Product: Platen Perforating Rule – General Info

Platen Perfs most often cut against a hard steel surface. Therefore, it’s important to maintain tight and consistent tolerances on rule height, hardness, tooth and space and gullet depth. National Steel meets all those requirements.

When it comes to perforating rule, no other rule manufacturer comes close to the variety of sizes available from National. We produce an almost infinite variety of styles for the corrugated, folding carton and business forms industry. While the corrugated field generally uses fractional perfs, such as 1/8 x 1/8 or 1/4 x 1/4, National can produce special perfs for almost any application in TPI (teeth per inch) decimal and metric versions.

Most common “TPI” (teeth per inch) perf rules: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 17. Custom sizes also available. Most common metric perfs: (in milimeters) 2 x 2, 4 x 4, 6 x 6, 8 x 8, 10 x 10, 12 x 12 and 15 x 15. Custom sizes may be available. Examples of decimal perfs: .187″T x .045”S, .125”T x .050”S, .047”T x .024”S
